Mulholland Repairs is a father & son business that began in our family’s garage in Merrimac, Massachusetts. Connor is an avid paddle Surfer and found that his boards frequently needed repairs due to the rocky New England coast. In 2015 His dad said, “Let’s learn how to do these fiberglass repairs and start a business.”
Connor’s great-great uncle, William Mulholland, designed and built the water aqueduct that brought water to Los Angeles. Named after him is the famous Mulholland Drive. Connor’s grandfather and father both worked in water technology. The family tradition continues in a slightly different capacity…helping people enjoy water sports.
Connor has always worked in the boat building industry. He completed an apprenticeship at Lincoln Canoe and Kayak where he learned composite production. He continued to learn at Chislett’s Boating and Design, where he helped build Maritime skiffs and Ribcraft military grade boats for 2 years. It is those accomplishments and work that he is most proud of still today. Leaving there in summer of 2019 He applied his training, knowledge, and unique set of skills to start Mulholland Repairs.
Connor has achieved respect and success in his field. He receives referrals for repairs from Lincoln Canoe & Kayak, Paddle Boston, and White Rose Canoe. Locally, Seacoast Specialty Marine, The Cottage Surf Shop and The Wandering paddler send customers his way, too.
Connor is proud that he has customers coming from near and far. Some come from as far away as VT, CT, and Bar Harbor ME. He also has a especially large customer base in the Freeport Maine area since Lincoln used to be based there.
In addition, Connor makes unique outdoor surfboard showers, tables, bar-tops and wall hangers. He is intrigued with the Lichtenberg burning technique where his handmade wooden surfboards are charged with high voltage electricity. This creates a unique fractal pattern that he fills with vibrant colored epoxy to create breathtaking art. He enjoys collaborating with his customers to design the perfect piece to meet their needs.
In 2021, Connor opened a showroom to display his products. Collaborative Innovation (CI) Works located at 11 Chestnut Street in historic Amesbury is open by appointment only. He looks forward to meeting new customers in this space!
At Mulholland Repairs we are passionate about following our dreams and pursuing creative growth.
